day two-hundred-and-ninety-three - brookesia micra

i don't know the common name for these guys but basically brookesia micra = tiny chameleon!

the tiniest in fact

obviously they're not this colour, and actually they're not even life-size. in reality they could fit on a match head.

so tiny, and yet so surly.

these guys, and four other types of tiny-leons, were discovered recently, although i can't for the life of me figure out how anyone could have seen them! the extreme tininess may be due to the limited resources on madagascar. so should we steal almost all of madagascar's food and natural resources to try to make tiny lemurs too? i say yes.

p.s. how weird does the word 'tininess' look? it's not immediately obvious that it refers to being super tiny, but maybe tinny instead. i say we defy conventions and spell it with a y, so as to avoid any future confusion. good chat. see you at the next "p.s. spelling meeting" in march

day two-hundred-and-thirteen - tarzans chameleon

for real

it's truly terrible, and not too different from my other chameleon, but i wanted to draw him because he made the IUCN red list this year.

so you all need to get acquainted with him before he inevitably dies. this is what he looks like in his fancy skin.

what a grumpy post. apologies! i'll make up for it tomorrow. (probably)

day six - veiled chameleon

no time to talk!

this took forever. stupid soaky poscas. this guy speaks for himself i think. we all know chameleons are cool. they have fork feet and spotty skin and they sway gingerly as they walk.

my next chameleon will be even better (and not so rushed)! eep... nine minutes to go!
