day two-hundred-and-forty-six - xmas shoebill stork

oh hello again! what are the chances of meeting you twice in the same day!?

probably pretty high, seeing as that's the point of this blog...

in any case, this guy is both the second-to-last christmas card i have to post AND the creepiest:

i never really thought much of storks until i started this blog. since then, i've come across lots of beautiful storks. i like to like new animals - it's nice.

wow what a terrible post. but hey at least the drawing is good. i guess you can't really have it all... sorry liz lemon

p.s. i am ever so sorry if you actually thought this stork was going to be painted due to the name. blame the naturalist that named him though, not me

day one-hundred-and-sixty-five - black-necked stork

or jabiru if you like. and why wouldn't you when it's other name is sooo boring?

i like my drawing, but you should probably see them in photo because their heads are actually navy and their legs a lovely coral.

they're also the only stork in australia, and therefore if you're born in aus they're most definitely the bird that delivered you to your parents.

uh-huh
