day ninety-five - sifaka

they have a cool and exotic name, they cling to impossibly narrow, rocky pinnacles, they look awesome and they apparently whisper their own name as they go about their business (still not sure if this is true). they are sifakas:

although i only drew one. a fat one at that. he's pretty cute, but not nearly as amazing as they look in real life. hmm poor choice jemma, for that merely highlights how saggy YOUR sifaka's cheeks are.

it's a jemma sifaka...

they are truly beautiful animals, and quite majestic looking - that is until you see them in motion (or even a still of them in motion). giggle. animals be funny.

at first i was like:  o_O

but then i loved it. and he looks super swell in pale purple.

but apart from having a cool nickname (and being able to pull off purple) these guys don't have much else going for them - they are critically endangered in the sahara. BUT apparently they adapt well and breed easy so i'm sure they'll bounce back in no time.

i like aardvarks but i don't like the way they look (especially the babies) but i DO think their name lends itself to being the next dance craze:
