day one-hundred-and-eighty-two - the bat
voila!
he is 'the bat' because the book i (loosely) drew him from didn't name the species, just bats in general.
just havin' a bat chat...

day one-hundred-and-eighty-one - irish elk
in the red corner, at 6.9ft tall and with the largest antlers of any known deer is MEGALOCEROS GIGANTEUS!
in the blue corner is CLIMATE CHANGE and HUMAN BEINGS (and unwieldy and high maintenance antlers...).
giant deer loses.

p.s. i now can answer if i would draw dinosaurs and prehistoric megafauna... yes.

day one-hundred-and-eighty - fox
think outside the fox
kind of looks like a wolf. that's cool, i guess, seeing as they are both from the same family. foxes look a little more catty than wolves though.
and that's a scientific fact.
as usual, i had intended to draw a cartoony picture but instead drew another realistic felt-tip sketch. how thrilling of me. i am certainly trying my hardest to broaden my skills and create a diversely interesting blog.
anyway, i'm off (like a fox in the night)

day one-hundred-and-seventy-nine - octopus
here you go...
now don't be calling two octopuses "those octopi" because you'd be mixing your languages. octopus is of greek origin, but the '-i' plural is of latin origin. to keep it all greek, the correct plural ending is '-es'.
goooo etymology! now if i could just combine etymology with entomology...
