or was there!? (i was hoping to insert a still from the movie with an impala loitering in the background but turns out there actually wasn't an impala in the lion king)

well not poor, just not very detailed. i like this simpler/stylised style though. that's right - stylised style. the most stylish of all styles.

i drew it with a calligraphy pen, which was fun.

meh i'm tired and not feeling great - i'll make it up to you tomorrow by embroidering a butterfly or something. (no offense chamois)

peacock only refers to the male of the species. and i am no sexist, at least not to animals. you may beg to differ because i always refer to my drawings as 'this guy', but i would even call the queen 'this guy' if i were to meet her.
