day one-hundred-and-sixty-seven - animal party (red panda)

hiiii. i had a fancy animal party yesterday (as you do), and here is what i dressed as:

a red panda in a suit. unfortunately i didn't take photos myself (as i was busy partying and hosting) so i don't have a good close-up of the face paint. this is the best i could scrounge...

it's creepy alright, but you can kind of get the idea. although my black panda lips had rubbed off by this stage. rubbed off on what you may ask? how dare you! that is private information.

hmm, i certainly have made that sound unnecessarily rude. sploops!

day thirty-eight - cheetah

who else is sad that the rift valley doco is over? me too. boo hoo etc. especially since the last episode had some pretty great cheetah action in it.

as much as i don't like photos of myself, i do like any excuse to paint myself as an animal. so they balance each other out. it's also arguable whether this is art but it DID involve paint, so...

so far i have been a raccoon, a panda, a tiger and now a cheetah. maybe i could paint myself as every mammal in the world? that would be cool. not as cool as cheetah cubs though. they are some kind of wonderful mix of badassery and super cuteness with an air of superiority.

everyone thinks toucans are cool and exotic and poised...

when really they're small, off-kilter birds with a psychotic gleam in their eye. i still love 'em though. and only some of them hop around you in a threatening manner (yes, they do actually hop... so bizarre).

sorry. this is all you get because today: my dog ran away, my wallet was stolen, i lost my job, i had to wash my hair, i was in a car crash, i had a funeral to attend and i had to go to hospital. (two of those are true... well three, but i didn't NEED to wash my hair)

day eighteen - koala?

or something.

yeah so here's the thing, i don't like you enough to put you before socialising, so all you get today are my lunch-break sketches. mainly involving animal waiters, a self-portrait, and double-koala-action. but not in a gross way.

i will never draw that.

yep. i'm tired.

also a drawing of a bunch of animals would seem to contradict "an animal a day", but i made this thing up and there are no rules. except the daily thing. and the drawing. and involving animals. but that's it. and i'll draw as many things as i like! and AND humans are animals.

and me especially so. i'll make the crossover one day... whatever that means.
